A 1957 class member, Pete was a strikeout artist during his four years at TLC.  He was considered a fifth infielder on the mound due to his quick actions.  He threw a no-hitter at Texas Tech as a junior.  He posted a 9-3 record in 1955, striking out 148 batters – still a college record.  He pitched 46 innings of scoreless ball that season as the Dogs won 16 games in a row.  In two seasons, he defeated six Southwest Conference teams.  Pete also lettered four years in basketball.
