Bio

Patrick Zarate coached the Bulldogs to three consecutive women's track and field team championships in the American Southwest Conference. The titles came in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The Bulldogs also garnered three ASC runner-up finishes in cross country and three ASC runner-up finishes in women's track and field. With Zarate as head coach, the Bulldogs produced 47 NCAA Division III All-Americans and three individual-event NCAA Division III National Championships in women's track and field. The NCAA Division III National Championships came in 2007 (women's indoor 4x400 relay), 2008 (women's outdoor 4x100 relay) and 2010 (Briana Aiken, women's long jump). Zarate was named the ASC Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He was named the 2008 NCAA DIII Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Coach of the Year. He also claimed the honor for 2008 NCAA DIII Women's Outdoor Track & Field South/Southeast Region Coach of the Year. Zarate coached 49 participants at the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Those 49 participants produced a total of 47 NCAA Division III All-America honors and 29 NCAA Division III Top 10 finishes. Under Zarate, the Bulldogs captured 64 individual ASC conference champions and produced 85 ASC All-Conference student-athletes. TLU also celebrated 93 ASC Academic All-Conference awards and four Academic All-America honors.
