Michael Wallis entered the TLU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019. Wallis ranks seventh in all-time hits at TLU, with 211…Fifth in all-time career batting average, at .362…Fifth all-time for at-bats in a season (194 in 1998)…Tied for second for single-season doubles (20 in 1998)…Tied for second in runs scored in a single season (65 in 1998)…School record-holder for at-bats in a game, 8 in 14-inning Bulldog win in HOTC Tournament over Incarnate Word…Wallace had the game-winning triple in the 14th in that tournament victory…His 1998 season is one of the best all-around seasons in school history because, at the time, he set new school records for at-bats, runs, and doubles (plus he stole 19 bases and had 33 extra-base hits, including seven home runs)…In top five all-time for career games played (205)…Bulldogs produced overall record of 153-60-1 with Wallis on the team…Played in three NAIA Southwest Region Tournaments…Two-time Heart of Texas Conference First Team selection…Academic All-Heart of Texas Conference…Played professionally as a minor leaguer in the Chicago Cubs organization.
