A Third Team All-American in 2004, Matt Ross dominated the tight end position for the Bulldogs from 2001 to 2004.  Ross was named the TLU Student-Athlete of the Year in 2004-05 and was also the TLU Male Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year for 2004-05.  Matt was named the 2004 football team’s Most Valuable Player (the Bulldog Pride Award) and was the 2001 Capt. Thomas E. Eddy Award Winner.  In his senior year, 2004, he led the Bulldogs to a seven-game win streak and within one game of a conference title.  In 2004, Matt caught 28 passes in nine games for 546 yards and six touchdowns.  He caught the game-winning, two-point conversion pass in the Bulldogs’ wild 64-62 victory in four overtimes at Louisiana College.
