Bio
Jarvis Anderson transferred to Texas Lutheran for the 1990-91 season and made an immediate impact on the program with his defense, rebounding, and scoring, and with his ability to ignite a home crowd with a high-flying dunk. Anderson scored 830 points in his two seasons with the Bulldogs, and ranks No. 2 on the Bulldogs’ all-time scoring list for players appearing in just two seasons. The Bulldogs were Heart of Texas Conference runners-up in each of his two seasons, and the 1990-91 team played for the NAIA District 4 Championship and for a berth in the NAIA national tournament. Anderson, a native of Layton, Utah, claimed NAIA All-American honors in the 1991-92 season and led the Bulldogs to the NAIA District 4 semi-finals. In his senior year, he averaged 18 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. Anderson’s 92 steals that year still stand as the single-season record. Anderson’s greatest game likely came in a tense 66-64 win over St. Mary’s in Memorial Gymnasium. On that February night, Anderson scored 27 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and set the school single-game record for steals, with eight. Anderson’s final steal that night sealed the victory for the Bulldogs.
