J.M. 'Jack' Doerfler
Bio
A 1922 academy class member, Doerfler was a coach in football, basketball, and baseball. He started his coaching career here in 1926 and when the school became a junior college in 1928, he started the athletics programs and was the first coach in all three sports. The first football season was successful, winning eight of nine games. Successful teams were also fielded in basketball and baseball.
