Bio

Fred Hightower, a 1957 graduate, lettered in three sports – four letters in football, three in tennis, and one in track.  In 1954, he was selected to the AP Little All-American Football Team.  Returning to his alma mater, Hightower served as an assistant football coach and then as head football coach from 1964 to 1968.  His coaching continued at Oklahoma State University (1969-72) and for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League until 1976.  He was also a scout for the Dallas Cowboys from 1966-1976.
