A four-year starter, Davis played on the 1974 and 1975 NAIA-II National Championship teams…He also played on the 1976 NAIA-II National Semifinal squad…A product of Houston’s Jefferson High School, Davis started at defensive end for the Bulldogs…Davis and the Bulldogs were 39-5 in his four years on the team…Davis and his fellow seniors won more games in four years than any other senior class in TLU Football history…Davis was an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 1976…Also in 1976, he was named to the NAIA District IV Team and to the All-Lutheran Football First Team.
