Bio

Battles played for the Bulldogs and Coach Jim Shuler during the late ‘80s and early 90’s.  The Bulldogs were 72-40 with Battles on the floor and twice advanced to the NAIA District IV Tournament.  Battles, a six-foot-seven post player from Universal City and Judson High School, was a 1991 NAIA All-America Third Team selection (the first in Texas Lutheran history).  He was also named to the Heart of Texas All-Conference First Team in 1988-89, 1989-90 and 1990-91.  Battles was the conference Freshman of the Year for the 1986-87 season.  He finished his career with 1,739 points (third all-time in school history).  He averaged 16.72 points per game and posted a career field goal percentage of .547.
