While a football player at Texas Lutheran, Ebbie Neptune was named to the Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star-Telegram Small College Football Team in 1961 and 1962.  As a member of the Bulldogs’ track and field team, he ran on the 4x100 relay team that twice won the Big State Conference Championship.  The relay team set the Big State Conference 4x100 relay record in 1962.  Neptune was named the Texas Lutheran Most Outstanding Student-Athlete for the 1962-63 athletics year.
