Bio
Kiefer starred three seasons as the centerfielder for the Bulldogs. With Kiefer at the top of the lineup and in centerfield, the Bulldogs jumped from a .500 team (in the year prior to Kiefer’s arrival), to a combined record of 114-46 over the next three seasons. Kiefer and the Bulldogs defeated the University of Texas 12-5 in 1996 and set the school record for wins (45) that year. In 1995, Kiefer was named the Austin American Statesman All-Area Baseball Player of the Year after hitting .405 with 64 runs scored, 35 stolen bases (in 36 attempts), 12 doubles, five triples, three home runs, and on-base percentage of .530. Kiefer still holds the school record for stolen bases with 90 (37 more than the No. 2 base stealer in the TLU record books). Kiefer played professionally in the Chicago Cubs organization after graduating from TLU.
