Bio

Craig Saunders is the 10th all-time leading scorer in men’s basketball history at Texas Lutheran.  Craig, a native of Vienna, Virginia, scored 1,415 points in a four-year career as a starter and key reserve.  He excelled on defense as well and is TLU’s all-time career leader in steals (234).  In his first year with the Bulldogs, Saunders earned Freshman of the Year honors in the Heart of Texas Conference.  In his senior season, Craig was an All-HOTC First Team selection.  He is one of only a handful of players in TLU history that played on three consecutive NAIA District IV playoff teams.  In his final game as a Bulldog, Saunders poured in 33 points as TLU fell in the 1992 District IV Tournament semifinal to Wayland Baptist, one win shy of the 1992 NAIA National Tournament.
