Bio

The 1975 TLC Volleyball Team won the very first AIAW(Association of Intercollegiate Athletes for Woman) National Volleyball Championship, coached by legendary Susan Duke. The Bulldogs captured the title after an outstanding regular season that included wins over Texas A&M (three times, the University of Texas (twice), Stephen F. Austin (twice), Baylor, Rice, LSU and Tulane.  In Idaho, the Bulldogs took on Cal Poly, Pomona, Sul Ross, UC-Irvine and UC-Riverside, compiling a 5-1 tournament record.  Their only loss came in their third match  at the hands of UC-Riverside, however the Bulldogs avenged that defeat by coming back to beat Riverside twice, first in the championship round by scores of 4-15, 15-6 and 17-15, and then in the championship playoff match 10-12, 15-12 and 14-12 to claim the National Title.  The squad, which included future U.S. Olympian and NAIA Hall of Fame member Laurie Flachmeier, ended the season with an impressive record of 40 and 17.
