Texas Lutheran's Lister, Koenig named to SCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Teams

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran basketball student-athletes Anna Koenig (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg) and Caleb Lister (Baytown/Baytown Christian Academy) have been named to the 12th annual Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Winter All-Sportsmanship Teams.

The SCAC today announced the sportsmanship teams. A total of 34 student-athletes were selected to the 2019-20 squad in the sports of men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming and diving and women's swimming and diving.

Each head coach was asked to elect one member from his or her team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season.

This year's honorees feature six All-SCAC performers, including two who earned First Team All-SCAC status.

Lister, a junior forward, was an All-SCAC selection for TLU in leading the Bulldogs to the SCAC Championship final and to a tie for second in the SCAC regular-season race.

Lister posted career-bests this season in nearly every scoring, shooting, and rebounding category. He averaged 14.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. He shot 46.1 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from the three-point line and 71.1 percent from the foul line.

Lister led the SCAC in offensive rebounds, with 111 total offensive boards. He had 38 more offensive rebounds than the second-place offensive rebounder in the conference.

Lister was third in overall rebounding in the SCAC with his average of 8.9 boards per game. He had one less overall rebound than SCAC leader Matthew Rindahl (250 to 249).

Lister was named to the SCAC Championship All-Tournament Team. He was a member of TLU's 2019 SCAC Championship and 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament-qualifying squad.

Koenig, a senior forward, was a four-year letter-winner for the Bulldogs and a member of TLU's 2019 SCAC Championship squad and 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament team.

Koenig appeared in 86 career contests for the Bulldogs, and she made 39 career starts. She shot a career-best 57.9 percent from the field this season and ended her Bulldog career as a 49.3 percent shooter from the field.

In her career, Koenig grabbed 223 career rebounds and recorded 27 steals and 13 blocks.

An elementary education major, Koenig is a three-time SCAC Academic Honor Roll member.

In the Bulldogs' 2019 SCAC title run, Koenig started 25 of 26 games.
