TLU Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at SCAC Championships, Men Fifth

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's cross country program finished fourth with 124 points at the 2023 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships and the men finished fifth with 139 points.

Mackenzie Combs (New Braunfels/Canyon) made it six straight races as the top finisher for the Bulldogs with her 35th place finish in the 6K with a time of 26:10.6 on the muddy course at Irma Lewis Seguin Learning Center. Emma Etzler (Hallettsville/Hallettsville) finished right behind Combs in 36th with her time of 26:17.2. Gianna Kennedy (El Paso/El Paso) and Aaliyah Leal (Ingleside/Aransas Pass) joined in the top 50 with 43rd (27:08.3) and 48th (27:54.0) place finishes.

Carlos Cura (Rankin/Rankin) once again led Texas Lutheran as the top finisher for the men, finishing 30th with his time of 28:09.1. Lucas Falcon (Victoria/Victoria East) was next to cross the finish line in 48th with a time of 29:18.8. Nathan Sandelovic (Hallettsville/Hallettsville) and Wesley Holub (Wallis/Brazos) scored points with times of 29:29.8 (50th) and 30:05.4 (53rd). Gabriel Ceballos (San Antonio/Smithson Valley) finished 58th with a time of 31:18.8.
