#RV Texas Lutheran Completes SCAC Divisional Sweep Against Centenary

SEGUIN, Texas -- The #RV Texas Lutheran volleyball team took care of business Saturday afternoon - completing their sweep of their SCAC Divisional with a sweep of Centenary College, 25-12, 25-9, 25-16, at Memorial Gymnasium. The sweep is the Bulldogs sixth in a row - the longest since joining the SCAC in 2013 and the longest since 2004's 12 match sweep streak.

Emily Mixon (Woodville/Woodville) led Texas Lutheran with 11 kills, while hitting a career-high .588 in the match (min. 10 kills).

After setting a career-high in aces against St. Thomas last week, Keriann Kallus (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) had a team and career-high five service aces along with eight kills.

Freshman Addison Lewis (El Campo/Louise) recorded the Bulldogs lone block and added two kills in her collegiate debut.

Shavonne Respondek (San Antonio/Madison) finished with 20 assists and eight digs as the Bulldogs hit .311 as a team.

Faith Coldewey (Floresville/Floresville) led the back row with 12 digs and added three assists and an ace, while Ridley Kelly (Missouri City/Elkins) finished with eight digs.

The Bulldogs (15-4, 6-1 SCAC) took control in the first set and didn't look back - leading the match from wire-to-wire. After a 2-2 tie to start the first set, a 10-3 run gave the Bulldogs a 12-5 lead. A 4-0 serving run from Ridley Kelly extended the Bulldogs lead to 23-11 later in the set before putting it away, 25-12. Keriann Kallus would record four service aces in the set.

The Bulldogs went up 2-0 in the match behind one of their most dominant sets of the season, securing the set 25-9. Tanyse Moehrig (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley) led the way with four kills in the set while Cameren Davis (Wimberley/Wimberley) added two kills in her season debut.

The third set followed the same dominant story as the first two sets. The third set was highlighted by four kills by Mixon and the collegiate debuts from Lewis and Rachel Graff (Corpus Christi/London).

Texas Lutheran concludes their four match homestand with a non-conference match against Our Lady of the Lake on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The match will be streamed on TLU's YouTube Channel, TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
