SIDE OUT

  • Texas Lutheran won both regular season matchups against the 'Roos in 2022 after going 2-1 against them in 2021. Texas Lutheran met the 'Roos in the opening round of the SCAC Tournament last season - sweeping the 'Roos in straight sets.
  • Texas Lutheran is making its fourth straight appearance in the SCAC Tournament and ninth appearance overall - with the 2018 season being the only season missing the tournament since joining the SCAC in 2013. The Bulldogs are 5-12 overall (.294) in SCAC Tournament play and still seeking their first SCAC Championship appearance.
  • The 2022 season is the first time the Bulldogs have tallied double-digit conference wins since joining the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in the fall of 2013. The 24-win mark marks the most since 2007's 22-win season when Texas Lutheran was still a member of the American Southwest Conference (ASC) as they continue their pursuit to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since that 2007 season.
  • Following yet another stand out regular season on the TLU back row, Lexi Morris (Victoria/Victoria West) is now the program record holder with 2,471 digs in her career - surpassing Megan Lee's (2011-14) 2,409 digs. Morris currently sits in fourth place in SCAC history in the category trailing Colorado College's Sophie Merrifield (2012-15, 2,499 digs) by 18 digs for third place. Morris will finish third in SCAC history in career digs per set. Morris is currently ranked second in NCAA Division-III with 679 digs so far this season.
  • Senior middle blocker Madison Weisinger (Friendswood/Friendswood) is tied for 11th in NCAA Division-III in blocks with 108 total blocks on the season.
  • The last trip to Colorado College was a historic one for the Bulldogs - going 2-1 in the SCAC Divisional including the first win over Colorado College in program history. The Bulldogs will look to conjure that same magic in the tournament.

OUT OF THE BOX

  • Austin College is led by Cheyenne Dantonio - who finished fifth in the SCAC in blocks per set - and defensive specialist Chloe Miller. The 'Roos enter the tournament with the momentum of a four match win streak.
  • If the Bulldogs handle the 'Roos, they'll face the 2022 regular season champions No. 3 Trinity. The Bulldogs will look to continue their historic season and win their first match against the Tigers since Sept. 19, 2015, in Seguin. The perennial powerhouse led by coach Julie Jenkins is led by 2022 SCAC Player of the Year candidate Emily Ellis and 2021 AVCA All-American Sara Flynn.
