TLU Volleyball sweeps OLLU as Hot Start Continues

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball continued its hot start to the season with a sweep of Our Lady of the Lake, 25-15, 25-22, 25-23, on Wednesday at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs (8-2) hit .140 in the match and held OLLU to a .079 hitting percentage.

Brylie Nedd (Sealy/Sealy) led the Bulldogs with nine kills and a .261 hitting percentage. She also added five digs and two assists. Tanyse Moehrig (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley) finished with seven kills, six digs and a block. Peyton Sulak (Needville/Needville) finished with five kills and had a team-high two service aces.

Julia Chew (Cypress/Cy-Fair) tallied a team-high 17 assists while Lexi Morris (Victoria/Victoria West) led the Bulldogs with 17 digs.

Texas Lutheran led the first set from start to finish, hitting .273 and cruising to a 25-15 result. The second set was closer at the midway point, with the Bulldogs trailing 19-18 before closing it out 25-22.

In the third set, the Bulldogs trailed throughout the middle of the set before closing the set on a 10-3 run with Paige Day (San Antonio/Reagan) and Peyton Sulak leading the way down the stretch to for a 25-23 win to clinch the sweep - their fifth of the season.

Texas Lutheran will travel to San Antonio to take part in the Trinity Fall Classic where the Bulldogs will face La Verne and Scranton - a 2021 NCAA Tournament qualifier - at Calgaard Gymnasium. Texas Lutheran will face La Verne at 10 AM before their matchup with Scranton at 2:30 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
