Women's Track & Field Sweeps SCAC Weekly Awards
SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's track and field program swept Tuesday evening's conference honors, the conference announced - sweeping the second week of the weekly awards for the 2024 season.
Senior Trinity Murdock (Katy/Paetow) was named SCAC Co-Track Athlete of the Week after impressive showings in the 100m dash and 4x100m relay. Murdock was a member of a TLU 4x100m relay squad that finished second in the 4x100m relay at the UTA Invitational with a time of 48.91 seconds - a time that leads all of NCAA Division-III.
Murdock, the 2023 SCAC Champion in the 100m dash, also finished seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 12.39 seconds. The time ranks in a tie for second in all of NCAA Division-III in 2024.
Julissa Rodriguez (Deer Park/Deer Park) repeats as SCAC Field Athlete of the Week after earning the honor last week. Rodriguez finished second in the shot put with a mark of 11.46m (37' 7.25") - a mark that ranks 12th in NCAA Division-III; joining her third place hammer throw mark in the top 15 nationally.
