Texas Lutheran's Julissa Rodriguez Named SCAC Field Athlete of the Week
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Texas Lutheran junior Julissa Rodriguez (Deer Park/Deer Park) has been lauded as Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday evening following her performance in the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio.
Rodriguez competed well in all the throws at the Trinity Invitational finishing second in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.95m (147' 6"). The mark ranks second in all of Division-III after a weekend that saw a number of schools open their outdoor seasons across the country. Rodriguez also earned top 15 finishes in the discus and javelin.
Rodriguez and Texas Lutheran will travel to Arlington, Texas, to compete in the UTA Invitational March 7-8.
