Norrell Continues Hot Start, Breaks 60m Hurdles Record at FasTrak

HOUSTON, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's track and field team competed in the FasTrak Athletix Indoor Collegiate Challenge Saturday at Yeoman Fieldhouse at the University of Houston.

After breaking her own 55m hurdle record last week, junior Taylor Norrell (Lake Jackson/Brazosport) continued her record breaking start on Saturday - setting a new program record in the 60m hurdles. Norrell would finish fifth in the 60m hurdles - first amongst Division-III competitors - with a record breaking time of 9.34 seconds, eclipsing the previous record of 9.40 seconds held by Natalie Wood.

Aaliyah Leal (Ingleside/Aransas Pass) finished 14th - second amongst Division-III runners - in the 800m run with a time of 2:33.47.

Ashlynn Recknagel (La Vernia/La Vernia) finished fourth in the pole vault and second amongst Division-III competitors with a mark of 3.20m (10'6").

In throws, Julissa Rodriguez (Deer Park/Deer Park) finished sixth in the shot put with a mark of 11.86m (38'11").
