Texas Lutheran Competes in Trinity Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran track and field concluded the two-day Trinity Invitational in San Antonio on Saturday.

Trinity Murdock (Katy/Paetow) and Natalie Garcia (McAllen/McAllen) finished fifth and sixth, third and fourth amongst Division-III sprinters, in the 100m dash with times of 12.83 and 12.84 seconds - both ranking in the top ten in all of Division-III.

Taylor Norrell (Lake Jackson/Brazosport) finished seventh in the 100m hurdles, second amongst Division-III competitors, with a time of 15.75 seconds that ranks eighth in all of Division-III as of this writing. Sage Bartlett (Buda/Johnson) finished fifth in the 400m hurdles, second amongst Division-III competitors, with a time of 1:10.76.

Aaliyah Leal (Ingleside/Aransas Pass) finished seventh in the 800m run with a time of 2:27.41 - a time that placed fifth amongst Division-III competitors.

Freshman Katelyn Brown finished seventh in the high jump, third amongst Division-III jumpers, with a mark of 1.45m.

In throws, Julissa Rodriguez (Deer Park/Deer Park) finished fourth in the women's shot put, first amongst Division-III throwers, with a mark of 11.79m. The 11.79m mark ranks fifth in all of Division-III in the event as of this writing. Rodriguez would also finish eighth in the hammer throw - fourth amongst Division-III throwers - with a mark of 41.47m and sixth in the javelin throw, also fourth amongst Division-III throwers, with a mark of 31.28m. Brianna Wilson (Austin/Cotulla), fresh off of a SCAC Tournament run with the TLU Women's Basketball team, finished ninth, fourth amongst Division-III throwers, in the discus throw with a mark of 35.58m. Kenna Kubenka (Hallettsville/Hallettsville) finished tenth, fifth amongst Division-III throwers, in the hammer throw with a mark of 39.04m.
