Women's Tennis Swept on Senior Day

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's tennis was swept by the visiting Schreiner University Mountaineers, 9-0, Saturday afternoon at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center to conclude their 2024 home slate.

Prior to the match, Texas Lutheran recognized senior Allie Speyrer (Shallowater/Shallowater) in pre-match Senior Day festivities - recognizing her accomplishments and thanking her for her contributions to the program. Thank you Allie for everything over the course of the last two years.

The Bulldogs were swept in women's doubles and singles competition.

In doubles competition, The Speyrer sisters, Abbie Speyrer (Shallowater/Shallowater) and Allie Speyrer fought to a 6-8 conclusion.

In singles, both Allie Speyrer and Bailey Denton (Hondo/Somerset) forced decisive third sets before falling to the Mountaineers.

Women's tennis falls to 3-12 overall and to 2-3 in the SCAC.

Up next, Texas Lutheran wraps the regular season as they travel to Marshall, Texas, to face the East Texas Baptist Tigers on Saturday, April 20. First serve is set for 9 AM.
