Roach Named SCAC's Defensive Player of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Following their 2-0 shutout weekend, freshman defender Caitlin Roach (Manvel/Manvel) has been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Roach, a Manvel, Texas, native, picked up her first SCAC weekly honor helping a backline that didn't allow a single goal over the course of 180 minutes of action this weekend. The Bulldogs shutout Austin College, 4-0, last Friday and then knocked off Dallas, 3-0, on Sunday. The Bulldogs have shutout their opponents in four of their last six matches. The Bulldogs have allowed just three goals in SCAC play this year, the second fewest in the league. 

This is the first SCAC Weekly honor in Roach's career.

The Bulldogs will conclude the regular season against Southwestern on Friday, Oct. 27. Kick off is set for 6 PM and will be broadcast on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
