Bulldogs Fall to UMHB, 4-0

BELTON, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's soccer team dropped a non-conference matchup to the 2022 ASC Champions and NCAA Tournament qualifiers, Mary Hardin-Baylor, on Friday night, 4-0, at Cru Soccer Field in Belton, Texas.

The Crusaders (5-0) attacked early and often with 10 shots in the first half. The Bulldogs were able to keep the UMHB offense at bay until the Crusaders finally broke through in the 30th minute and would take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The Crusaders would pile on two second half goals to bring the game to its final score of 4-0. The Bulldogs fought to the very end, but the Bulldogs couldn't find the back of the net on their three shot attempts as they were unable to avoid their second consecutive shutout in non-conference action.

The Bulldogs (3-2-2) were outshot 22-3 in the contest.

Junior goalkeeper Charleigh Phipps (Dripping Springs/Dripping Springs) was active in goal - making a team-high four saves on the night - but would take the losing decision.

After a two-game road trip, Texas Lutheran returns home for a non-conference match with Concordia (TX) (0-3-3) on Monday, Sept. 25. The match is set to kick off at 7:30 PM at Gustafson Field and will be broadcast on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
