Wolfe, Simien Goals Lift Bulldogs Past Beavers, 2-1

PASADENA, CA -- Texas Lutheran captains Kelly Wolfe (San Antonio/Churchill) and Alyssa Simien (San Antonio/Warren) both found the back of the net as TLU (2-0-1) came from behind to defeat Caltech (0-1-1) on Friday at North Field in Pasadena, California, in a first-time matchup between the two teams.

Caltech took the early advantage with a 35th-minute goal to take the 1-0 lead.

The Bulldogs would respond right away as senior Kelly Wolfe scored her first goal of the season to tie the match one-all via an assist from Ana Parra (San Antonio/Brennan), her second of the season. With the assist, Parra ties Kaysie Boomhower (2008-10) for ninth all-time in career assists, bringing her career total to eleven.

TLU kept the pressure on throughout before finally breaking through in the 59th minute as Alyssa Simien scored yet another game winner for her third goal and second game winner of the season.

Texas Lutheran finished with a 15-7 advantage in shots - including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Texas Lutheran concludes its west coast road trip with a rematch with Chapman University on Sunday as the Bulldogs look to avenge their 2-1 loss from a season ago. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1 PM CST. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
