SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran came up short in its bid to send four seniors - Alyssa Reimer, Madison Murphy, Raquel Morris, and Mariela Candelario - out victorious in their final home match at Gustafson Field.
Centenary spoiled the Senior Day festivities with a 2-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over TLU.
The Ladies moved to 8-1 overall and to 7-1 in the SCAC. TLU dropped to 2-4-1 overall and to 2-2-1 in the SCAC.
Sydney Bascomb put Centenary in front 1-0 with a goal in the 48th minute. The shot from Bascomb was Centenary's first shot of the match.
Celeste Muniz put the Ladies up 2-0 in the 80th minute with an unassisted goal.
TLU out-shot Centenary 18-3 and had a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.
The Bulldogs were a constant presence in the Centenary end of the field, but TLU could not find the back of the Centenary net.
TLU took eight corner kicks, including five in the first half.
The Bulldogs have SCAC regular-season matches (both on the road) remaining at Trinity on April 3 and at Schreiner on April 10.
