Texas Lutheran Finishes Sixth at SCAC Championship

LAKE WHITNEY, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's golf team closed out its 2023-24 season on Tuesday with a sixth place finish at the 2024 SCAC Championship, held at the par-72, 5,884 yard White Bluff Golf Resort in Lake Whitney, Texas.

The Bulldogs carded an 87-over par (375) final round to bring their 72-hole total to 291-over par (1,155).

Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee) finished in 18th place to lead Texas Lutheran on the leaderboard. Frederick carded 18-over par on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 52-over par (268).

Texas Lutheran's three remaining golfers finished one after the other on the leaderboard.

Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) finished in 26th place at 76-over par (292).

Five strokes behind her was Mireia Bustamante (Austin/McNeil) who carded a 25-over par (97) final round and finished in 27th place at 81-over par.

In 28th place was Jordyn Ponewash (Flatonia/Flatonia) at 82-over par.

No. 15 Trinity won the 2024 SCAC Championship at 70-over par (934). Trinity's Kiona Hsiu claimed the individual title at 15-over par (231).
