Texas Lutheran Finishes Sixth at SCAC Championship

KERRVILLE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's golf team closed out its 2022-23 season on Tuesday with a sixth place finish at the 2023 SCAC Championship, held at the par-72, 5,834 yard Riverhill Country Club.

The Bulldogs carded an 89-over par 377 final round to being their 36-hole total to 167-over par 743.

Wynter Flores (San Antonio/Incarnate Word Academy), a senior, finished tied for 15th place to lead Texas Lutheran on the leaderboard. Flores carded 19-over par on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 27-over par 171.

Two Bulldogs, Audre Garza (New Braunfels/Canyon) and Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee) stacked up next to each other further down the standings.

Garza finished in a tie for 25th place at 39-over par 183 after shooting a 15-over par final round to move up the leaderboard four spots.

Two strokes behind her was Braydee Frederick, who carded a 23-over par 95 final round and finished in 27th place at 41-over par.

In 33rd place was Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) at 60-over par.

No. 20 Trinity won the 2023 SCAC Championship at 51-over par 627. Trinity's Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino claimed the individual title at 9-over par 153.
