Flores Leads Bulldogs in First Round of SCAC Championships

KERRVILLE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's golf team will look to make a big move in the standings going into the second day of the SCAC Women's Golf Championships at Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville, Texas. After the first round, Texas Lutheran is in sixth place at 78-over par with a 366. TLU is 14 strokes behind fifth place Schreiner, while Trinity holds the lead after shooting a 26-over par 314.

Wynter Flores (San Antonio/Incarnate Word Academy) paces the Bulldogs after shooting an 8-over 80 in the first round. She delivered three birdies and six pars in Monday's opening round. Flores is tied for seventh place and is five strokes back of the co-leaders, Trinity's Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino and Dallas' Kimberly Burch who each shot 3-over par in the first round.

Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee) is in 24th with an 18-over 90 while Audre Garza (New Braunfels/Canyon) is in 29th with a 24-over 96.

Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) is tied for 31st with a score of 28-over 100.

The Bulldogs will take on Tuesday's second and final round with Springs teeing off first at 8:05 AM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
