Flores leads Alamo City Classic Through Day One

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior Wynter Flores (San Antonio/Incarnate Word) put on quite the performance during Monday's opening round of the Alamo City Classic. Flores shot a career-low round of 73 (+2) at the Alamo City Classic at Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio to finish as the first round leader.

Flores finished tied for the lead with Trinity University's Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino. Flores helped TLU grab fourth place after day one with a team score of +40, 324. Trinity University leads the tournament at 27-over.

The reigning SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week produced a round with two birdies on the back nine to finish as the leader in the clubhouse.

Sophomore Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee) also finished in the top ten for the Bulldogs. She produced a round of +7, 78 to tie for eighth place after the opening 18 holes. Audre Garza (New Braunfels/Canyon) finished 15-over, 86, to finish tied for 25th. Freshmen Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) and Mireia Bustamante (Austin/McNeil) rounded out the TLU team score with Springs finishing 16-over and Bustamante finishing 17-over to tie for 27th and 30th place respectively.

The six-team field for the Alamo City Classic features six teams from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The second round gets underway at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, Oct. 11. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.
