Texas Lutheran Concludes Tempest Intercollegiate; Flores, Frederick Nab Top 20 Finishes

GLADEWATER, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's golf team concluded the 2022 Tempest Intercollegiate hosted by LeTourneau University on Tuesday at Tempest Golf Club in Gladewater, Texas.

As a team, Texas Lutheran finished sixth in a field of eight teams combining for a score of 703, 127-over par over 36 holes.

Wynter Flores (San Antonio/Incarnate Word) paced the Bulldogs on day two with 5-over 72 in the final round Tuesday. She finished the tournament 20-over and in 17th place in the 36-hole tournament - climbing the leaderboard six spots from Monday.

Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee) joined Flores in the top 20 with a score of 22-over - climbing eight spots to finish in a tie for 18th place after improving 10 strokes from Monday's outing. Mireia Bustamante (Austin/McNeil) signed for a final tally of 91 on day two to close the tournament at 41-over to finish tied for 31st.

Audre Garza (New Braunfels/Canyon) finished 34th at 44-over par.

Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) signed for the final tally of 48-over par to finish tied for 37th.

Texas Lutheran will be back in action next week at the Alamo Classic. The event, hosted by Trinity University, will be played Oct. 10-11 at Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.
