Bulldogs Use Balanced Attack to Defeat Dallas, 85-52

SEGUIN, Texas -- Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST) scored 15 points, dished five assists and tallied three steals as Texas Lutheran dominated Dallas 85-52 Friday night as TLU ended its three-game losing streak. The 33-point win makes for the largest of the season and second largest of the Troy Patterson era, only trailing 2021's 43-point over Concordia (TX).

The five assists are a career-high for the freshman guard. Freshman Davi'Yanna Jones (San Antonio/Stevens) scored a career-high 13 points and matched her career-high with seven rebounds. Kailey Lacy (Pflugerville/Hendrickson) joined the freshman duo in double-figures with 11 points, including three-of-four from deep.

After a slow start from both squads that saw TLU trail 6-2 early, the Bulldogs would tie the game 6-all with 3:05 remaining in the first quarter following buckets from Sansano and Emerald St. Laurent (The Woodlands/Oak Ridge). St. Laurent would score a career-high six points on the night. The Bulldogs would not trail for the remainder of the game leading 14-9 after the first and never trailing in the final three quarters.

Texas Lutheran shot an astounding 54.1% percent from the field and four-of-eight from beyond the arc.The 54.1% field goal mark marks the highest team field goal percentage since a Jan. 26, 2019, win over Trinity that saw the Bulldogs shoot 58% from the field. Texas Lutheran cleared the bench Friday night with all 15 active players scoring at least two points. Texas Lutheran dominated the boards Friday night - holding a 43-26 advantage. Texas Lutheran also dished out 22 assists as a team.

Up next, Texas Lutheran concludes its four game home stand as they welcome the 'Roos of Austin College on Saturday, Jan. 21. Tip-off is set for 4 PM at Memorial Gymnasium.
