Presley leads Texas Lutheran Past St. Thomas

SEGUIN, Texas -- Kayla Presley (Kyle/San Marcos) scored 10 of her 16 points in the first half as Texas Lutheran dominated St. Thomas 61-40 at Memorial Gymnasium on Friday night.

Presley scored an efficient 16 points on Friday, finishing 7-of-8 shooting, while matching her career-high of eight rebounds that she set against Concordia (TX) earlier this season. Kailee Mulkey (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) also added 16 points and a team-high four assists.

Texas Lutheran held the Celts to five points in the first quarter and 12 points total in the first half. Texas Lutheran carried a 30-12 lead into halftime led by Presley's 10 points.

Texas Lutheran would never lose their lead and cruise through the second half - leading by as many as 27 points.

The Texas Lutheran bench continues to be a force - scoring 33 points - led by Presley and Hannah Gallegos (San Antonio/Harlan), who finished with six points. Texas Lutheran dominated the boards, finishing with a 45-30 in the category.
