Strother Three-Peats as SCAC Pitcher of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Texas Lutheran pitcher, Ashlyn Strother (Seabrook/Clear Falls) was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week for the third straight week, the conference office announced Monday. 

Strother tossed a no-hitter against Austin College on March 19 to cap a 2-0 week in the circle for the Bulldogs. The sophomore struck out 14 'Roos batters in six innings en route to completing the 30th no-hitter in Texas Lutheran program history, the second of her career and her first individual no-hitter.

The Seabrook, Texas, native shut down the Bulldogs opponents last week - allowing one run in 12 innings of work. Strother only allowed five hits and recorded 17 strikeouts while earning a .585 earned-run average. She held her opponents to a .125 batting average.

Strother is now 10-0 on the season - placing her third nationally in wins. She has pitched a team-leading 62.2 innings and has a SCAC leading 1.01 ERA. She has 94 strikeouts on the year - leading the SCAC and placing third nationally - and has held her opponents to a .177 batting average.

Texas Lutheran begins a five-game road trip beginning Friday, March 25th, as the Bulldogs travel to Georgetown to face the Southwestern Pirates in SCAC action. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
