Martin Claims SCAC Weekly Honor

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Texas Lutheran senior Casey Martin (Pearland/Pearland) was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Hitter of the Week for the second time in four weeks, the conference announced Monday.

Martin manufactured an explosive week to help the Bulldogs to a 6-1 record, going 10-for-20 with nine runs, five RBIs, seven walks and two doubles while stealing seven bases. The Pearland, Texas, product slashed a .600 slugging percentage to go along with a .643 on-base percentage. Through 24 games, Martin ranks first in the conference in batting average (.486), runs scored (28), and on-base percentage (.589), third in stolen bases (18), fourth in slugging percentage (.583), and tenth in RBIs (13).

On the base paths, now stands 71-for-81 in stolen base attempts in her career. She currently sits sixth in program history - two behind Kyla Lockley (2017-18).

Texas Lutheran begins a five-game road trip beginning Friday, March 25th, as the Bulldogs travel to Georgetown to face the Southwestern Pirates in SCAC action. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
