Ashlyn Strother Awarded SCAC Pitcher of the Week for Third Time

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Ashlyn Strother (Seabrook/Clear Falls) is this week's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week, for the second week in a row and third time this season, the league announced Monday following her 3-0, 32 strikeout week.

Strother earned three victories last week - including two conference wins against Schreiner - as the sophomore tossed two complete games and 17.2 innings in total to improve to 8-0 on the season.

Strother blanked her opponents in all three of her appearances and scattered just nine hits across the three appearances. Strother would strikeout 32 batters last week - eclipsing double-digit strikeouts in all three starts. Strother has now racked up double-digit strikeouts in five of her last six appearances, including three-straight last week and has amassed 63 strikeouts during that stretch. She currently leads the SCAC in strikeouts and is third in the category nationally with 77 strikeouts on the season.

On the season, Strother holds a 1.11 ERA in 50.2 innings pitched. She has 77 strikeouts against only eight walks.
