Texas Lutheran Competes in Tom Tellez Invitational

HOUSTON, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field team wrapped up the Tom Tellez Invitational at the Carl Lewis International Complex on the campus of University of Houston Friday night in a Division-I laden field.

Bryce Powell-Chimene (Dayton/Dayton) finished third in the 400m dash with a time of 48.44 seconds while adding a time of 21.96 in the 200m dash.

Freshman Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph) finished sixth in the high jump, matching his season best mark of 1.90m (6' 2.75") while fellow freshman Layden Lara (Goliad/Goliad) added a sixth place finish in the triple jump with a 13.18m (43'3") mark.

In throws, Dalon Harris (Garland/Lakeview Centennial), the 2024 SCAC Champion in the shot put who entered Friday number 18 in Division-III in the event, finished sixth with a 15.52 (50'11") mark. Freshman Jacob Cortinas finished fourth in the javelin throw with a final mark of 46.62m (152' 11"). Chase Cook (Austin/McNeil) finished eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.12m (157'10").
