Texas Lutheran Announces Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Schedule

SEGUIN, Texas -- The schedule for the 2024 Texas Lutheran Bulldogs Track and Field Program was announced by Head Coach Ron McCown on Friday.

The Bulldogs will attend a total of 12 regular season meets over the course of both indoor and outdoor season. This includes the 2024 D3 Challenge held at Bulldog Stadium in Seguin.

The 2024 SCAC Championships will be held April 27-28 at Trinity University.

2023 SEASON IN REVIEW

Members of the Track and Field program participated in 18 meets last season. During the indoor season, the Bulldogs had two national qualifiers and seven All-Region honorees.

The outdoor season was highlighted by the men's team rising as high as No. 7 in the country and six participants in the 2023 NCAA National Championships - including Gerrit Twitero finishing fourth in the high jump and the 4x100m relay team finishing sixth.

The Bulldogs totaled 12 individual SCAC Championships in 2023.

2024 SEASON DETAILS

The Bulldogs will open the indoor season in January as they travel to Lake Charles, Louisiana, for the McNeese Indoor Invite on Jan. 26.

Texas Lutheran will compete in the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Challenge for the fourth consecutive season in Houston on Feb.3 before returning to Louisiana for the LSU Twilight in Baton Rouge on Feb. 16.

The LSU Twilight will be the final regular season indoor meet as the Bulldogs look to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, VA, spanning from March 8-9.

Outdoor season will begin much closer to home as the Bulldogs open at the Trinity Invite in San Antonio on March 1. The Bulldogs will travel to Arlington, Texas, the following weekend for the UTA Invitational.

After a week to recover, TLU will host its lone home meet on March 23 before traveling to nearby San Marcos Mar. 28-30 for the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State.

The Bulldogs will compete in two meets in April, the UIW Invitational (Apr. 6) and Warhawk Classic (Apr. 12-13) ahead of the 2024 SCAC Championships. The Bulldogs will participate in two last chance meets in May, the Tom Tellez Invitational (May 3) and Trinity Last Chance (May 12), ahead of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor National Championships set to begin on May 23 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
