Ron McCown Announces Addition of Michael Brousseau as Throws Coach

SEGUIN, Texas -- On Tuesday, Texas Lutheran head track and field coach Ron McCown announced the addition of Michael Brousseau to his staff at Texas Lutheran. Brousseau will coach the program's throwers.

Brousseau comes to Seguin after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at Ottawa University (KS). During his time with the Braves, Brousseau worked with the throwers and was the head of their strength and conditioning program. Coach Brousseau coached National Qualifiers in the Shot Put, Discus, Hammer, Weight and Javelin.

During that time, he guided three athletes to NAIA Indoor/Outdoor National Championship appearances and two school records. Broussseau coached thrower Bryanna Music to six KCAC Championships and collectively Braves throwers tallied 11 all-conference honors under his guidance.

"I welcome Coach Brousseau to TLU. I know he will be a huge asset to this staff and that he will make sure the throws success continues, said McCown." "His achievements as a collegiate athlete and as a coach, along with his work ethic and team mentality will fit right into what we are about."

Prior to his time in Ottawa, Brousseau was a student-athlete at University of Jamestown (2012-15) in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was a member of the football and track teams. Brousseau was a 2014 NAIA Indoor National Championship qualifier in the weight throw and was a conference scorer in the Hammer, Weight Throw and the Javelin. Brousseau also spent time as a volunteer; coaching a Special Olympics thrower who finished second at the summer Special Olympics in the shot put.
