Reyes, Herman, and McDonough earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors
NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Scottie Reyes (Dilley/Dilley), Zachary Herman (Austin/Lake Travis), and Caimen McDonough (Canyon Lake/Canyon Lake) secured All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA for their incredible outdoor seasons. All-Region honors for the 2022 NCAA Division-III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Scottie Reyes earned All-Region honors in the discus throw (51.76m), shot put (16.07m), and hammer throw (50.09m). Reyes adds to his indoor All-Region honors in the weight throw and shot put.
Zachary Herman was recognized for his performances in the shot put (15.90m) and hammer throw (53.18m).
Herman and Reyes concluded their seasons at the 2022 NCAA Division-III National Championships as two of the top throwers in Texas at the Division-III level, record holders in the hammer and discus throw, and decorated members of a TLU Throws team that swept the 2022 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship Meet.
Caimen McDonough earned All-Region recognition in the triple jump (14m). This is the second event McDonough has earned All-Region status for in his career after earning All-Region honors in the high jump in 2021.
The trio repeats as All-Region performers with each being recognized as NCAA Division-III All-Region performers in 2021.
The trio adds to the list of All-Region honors for TLU Men's Track and Field in 2022 as Ezra Acero (San Antonio/Harlan) (Pole Vault), Weston Geiger (Shiner/St. Paul) (Weight Throw), Herman (Weight Throw), Ezrael Powell (San Antonio/Marshall) (200m dash), and Scottie Reyes (Weight Throw/Shot Put) earned All-Region honors during the indoor season.
