Troy Stephenson Named SCAC's Men's Track and Field Elite 19 Winner

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- In an announcement made at Sunday's conference championship, Texas Lutheran University's Troy Stephenson (Marble Falls/Marble Falls) was named the 2022 SCAC Men's Track and Field Elite 19 award winner.

Stephenson, a senior from Marble Falls, Texas, currently holds a 3.942 GPA in Kinesiology (Exercise Science). At this weekend's SCAC Championship, he earned all-SCAC honors in the pole vault, finishing third after clearing 4.30 meters (14' 1 1/4").

Stephenson is the second Bulldog to win the Elite 19 Award in Men's Track and Field (Jalen Starks, 2020).

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First, Second or Third Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
