Men's Tennis Sweeps Sul Ross State

SEGUIN, Texas -- After a five match losing streak, Texas Lutheran men's tennis got on the right track with a 9-0 sweep of Sul Ross State Thursday evening at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center. The win marks the second consecutive sweep over Sul Ross dating back to last season and the tenth straight victory over the Lobos dating back to 2012.

Texas Lutheran sweeped in both doubles and singles competition. Each doubles duo - Cashton Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels)/Austin Hudson (San Marcos/San Marcos), Brody Smith (New Braunfels/Canyon)/Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), and Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels)/Aaron Salinas (Kerrville/Tivy) - would win in straight sets with Texas Lutheran not dropping a single point in doubles competition.

Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff) would earn his team leading sixth singles victory in straight sets. Brody Smith and Austin Hudson would also win their singles matches in straight sets. Cashton Herrera would earn his first win of his collegiate career with a 6-0, 6-1 win while Aaron Salinas would earn his second singles victory of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 match.

Texas Lutheran will face Sul Ross State in a rematch on Friday, March 31, at 1 PM at Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center.
