Bulldogs Win Two ITA Flights to Conclude Fall Season

ABILENE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's tennis team wrapped up play in the 2022 ITA Southwest Regional Championships hosted by Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, on Saturday.

Freshman Austin Hudson (San Marcos/San Marcos) would have a huge day winning his semifinal match 6-4, 6-3 before clinching an ITA Flight Championship in the D Draw with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Schreiner.

Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), Brandon Nieto (Sinton/Sinton), and Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff) would all drop their singles matches in their respective consolation brackets.

After advancing to the Flight D Friday morning, the team of freshmen Eric Moninger and Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) would go on and win the entire doubles flight Saturday with an 8-2 victory in the semifinals before clinching the flight with 8-6 win over LeTourneau University.

The ITA regional concludes the Texas Lutheran Men's Tennis fall season. The Bulldogs will return to the court this spring.
