Three Bulldogs Named CSC Academic All-District

SEGUIN, Texas -- Three members of the Texas Lutheran University men's soccer team were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. Seniors Santiago Quinonez (Chihuahua, Mexico/New Braunfels) and Nathan Roy (Houston/Cy-Creek) along with junior Cole Sixkiller (San Antonio/Reagan) each earned the accolade.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's contests played or must start in at least 66 percent of the games. Teams are limited to six nominees.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-December.

Quinonez, a fifth-year senior from Chihuahua, Mexico, appeared in all 17 matches for the Bulldogs, starting six. The forward dished out two assists over the course of the 2023 season and concludes his career tied for tenth all-time in matches played (72) in a career. Quinonez is a Finance and Economics double major, who is earning his master's in Data Analytics.

Roy, a senior from Houston, appeared in and started 16 matches. Primarily a defender, Roy registered three shots and recorded his second career goal at St. Thomas (Oct. 8). Roy is an Accounting major.

Sixkiller, a junior from San Antonio, started all 17 matches for the Bulldogs, tallying one assist on the season. Sixkiller was named All-SCAC Honorable Mention earlier this month. Sixkiller is a Business Finance major.
