Bulldogs Finish Fifth at SCAC Championship

LAKE WHITNEY, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's golf team concluded the 2024 SCAC Championship with a 34-over par (322) final round on Tuesday to finish in sixth place at 79-over par (943) at White Bluff Golf Resort in Lake Whitney, Texas. No. 17 Schreiner captured the team title with a 72-hole total of 43-over par (311-310-322), 18 strokes ahead of Trinity. Centenary's Andrew Bennett won the individual title at 4-under par (212).

Despite the team finish, Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) paced TLU with the third consecutive top ten SCAC Championship finish for the junior. Wills placed seventh with a three-round total of 12-over par 228 (74-78-76)  earning him a spot on the All-SCAC Men's Golf Second Team.

Freshman Tyler Givilancz (Schertz/Clemens) tied for 19th place at 20-over par 236 after carding a 9-over par 81 in the third round.

Next on the leaderboard for TLU was Luke Friedeck (Cibolo/Clemens) tied for 27th at 30-over par 246 while fellow freshman Cody O'Brien (Houston/St. John XXIII College Prep) finished 29th with a final tally of 248 (+32). Johannes Chang (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia/Tenby International School) ended the tournament in 31st on Tuesday at 39-over par.
