Bulldogs Quartet Named to NABC Honors Court
SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran University's Easton Allen (New Braunfels/Marion), Darnell Horton (Detroit, MI/East English Village Prep), Isaac Orozco (Helotes/O'Connor), and JT Watson (Fredericksburg/
Over 1,800 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court which includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Allen, a rising junior, finished second on the Bulldogs in rebounds this season with 5.4 rebounds per game and was named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators. A two-time SCAC Winter Academic Honor Roll member, Allen is a Communications major maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
Horton, a 6-2 guard from Detroit, Michigan, earns his first NABC Honors Court honor. Horton played in four games as a sophomore. Horton is a Business Administration major and Accounting minor and maintains a 3.25 GPA.
Orozco, a rising junior from Helotes, Texas, played in all 25 games with 21 starts and led the SCAC in assists (3.3 apg), led the Bulldogs in minutes (27.8 mpg), and steals (43) as a sophomore, earning All-SCAC Honorable Mention honors. A two-time SCAC Winter Academic Honor Roll member, Orozco is an Integrated Science major.
Watson, a repeat Honors Court member after earning the honor in 2022, graduated from Texas Lutheran this spring with a bachelor's degree in Finance and 3.4 GPA. Watson appeared in 17 games as a senior in 2022-23.
