Bulldogs Drop Road Contest to Rival Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran dropped Friday's contest at rival Trinity, 85-58, at Calgaard Gymnasium in San Antonio.

Xavier Phillips (Austin/Dripping Springs) and Isaac Orozco (Helotes/O'Connor) scored nine points each to lead the way for the Bulldogs.

The two teams would trade small leads early in the first half Friday night before the Tigers would go on a 21-5 run over the course of nine minutes in the first half.  The Tigers would never relinquish the lead from that point forward. The Tigers led by 15 at halftime and by as many as 34 points - closing with the final 85-58 tally.

Up next, it's win or go home for the Bulldogs as they travel to Schreiner for the 2023 regular season finale on Saturday, Feb. 18, as the two teams battle for the sixth and final seed in the 2023 SCAC Conference Tournament. Tip-off is set for 6 PM in Kerrville. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
