Texas Lutheran Drops Heartbreaker to Colorado College, 67-64, on Senior Night

SEGUIN, Texas -- Despite a career-high 12 points and two steals from Keiman Capers (Houston/North Shore), Texas Lutheran fell to Colorado College, 67-64, on Friday.

Capers scored a career-high 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Isaac Orozco (Helotes/O'Connor) joined Capers in double-figures with 11 points and team-high three assists  for Texas Lutheran (10-13, 5-9 SCAC).

Prior to Friday night's game, Texas Lutheran honored its three seniors: JT Watson (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg), Mason Green (San Marcos/San Marcos), and Keiman Capers.

Colorado College led for the entire duration of the first half - leading by as many as 12 points - before TLU was able to cut the Tigers lead down to three points entering halftime. Easton Allen (New Braunfels/Marion) was instrumental in keeping the game close - scoring nine points in the first half anchored by a 6-for-6 performance at the charity stripe.

Colorado College continued to occupy the lead for a majority of the second half with Texas Lutheran trailing by as many as nine points in the second half but would rally to tie the game 53-all with 4:59 remaining.

Colorado College led 64-58 with 38 seconds remaining, before Mason Wallace (San Antonio/Judson) would cut the lead in half following an and-one lay up. Wallace would strike again with 12 seconds remaining as a deep three from the freshman cut the Tigers lead to one with 12 seconds remaining in the game. Texas Lutheran would have an opportunity to tie and or win the game with the final nine seconds but would see their three-point opportunity blocked - sealing a Tigers win.
