TLU Reveals SCAC Opponents and Locations for 2024 Schedule

SEGUIN, Texas -- Following their announcement to leave the American Southwest Conference (ASC) to return to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), the SCAC has revealed the opponents plus home and away designations for games on its 2024 schedule which will feature a double round robin between the SCAC's five teams. The 2024 season will be the first season the SCAC will host football since the conference stopped sponsoring the sport in 2016.

Texas Lutheran will face Centenary College, McMurry University, Lyon College, and Austin College over the course of an eight-game conference schedule starting with a September 14th matchup with Centenary - who will be in their first official season in 2024 after reinstating football for the first time since the 1940s in 2023. The matchup will be the first official matchup in football between the two schools.

Following a September 21st trip to Abilene to face the McMurry War Hawks - who will leave the ASC along with the Bulldogs to join the SCAC starting in 2024-25 - TLU will also have a first time matchup with Lyon College on September 28th at Pioneer Stadium in Batesville, Arkansas. Lyon revived football in 2015 after placing the sport on hiatus in 1951 as then named Arkansas College. Lyon will enter its second season as a NCAA Division-III institution, and first as a SCAC affiliate member, after playing from 2015-22 as an NAIA institution.

Texas Lutheran will wrap the first round of the round robin schedule with a home game against Austin College on October 5.

Texas Lutheran will host McMurry (Oct. 26) and Lyon (Nov. 2) and travel to Austin College (Oct. 19) and Centenary (Nov. 9) in the second round of the round robin.

Texas Lutheran's full schedule with times will be released at a later date.
